Easter too Offensive in St. Paul, but Palm Reading Isn't

As you probably know by now, St. Paul, MN is making national news for giving the Easter Bunny the boot from city hall. Might be offensive to non-Christians.

It’s not that I really care that Bunny was tossed out on his ear. Really it’s the “oh, no, someone ‘might’ be offended” attitude, considering the real reason for Bunny’s removal is that his first name is Easter.

Really, what I find hypocritical about it is that last year sometime, I happened to see a flyer for some kind of city employee appreciation party, sponsored at least in part by the City of St. Paul. Interesting that city officials didn’t see a problem with palm reading as a featured activity.

So Easter is out because it might offend non-Christians, but palm reading is in, even though it might offend Christians. Am I missing something here?
