Hard to Believe: The High Cost and Infinite Value of Following Jesus

Jesus Christ is no personal genie who grants health, wealth, happiness, and personal fulfillment. Yet that’s false Christ the average church advertises. The true gospel is not popular, is not appealing, is not user-friendly, and is most certainly not seeker-sensitive. Are you willing to pay the price the true gospel demands?

I bought this book awhile ago, and read much of it. After attending the Weekend with John MacArthur (notes), I’ve decided to read it again. After just a few chapters…. Well, let’s just say I see my Christian walk as even more pathetic than ever before.
