Would You Fast for Your Faith?
I’ve been wondering how Lt. Gordon James Klingenschmitt’s fast has been going. It doesn’t appear to be important enough for the major news outlets, so I had to do some searching. I ran across a World Net Daily story from yesterday, and he’s still fasting.
I’ve been mulling over whether I would fast, potentially for weeks, to fight for my faith.
Oh, I’ve occasionally gone an entire day without eating, but not necessarily because I was fasting on purpose. It was generally because I was too wrapped up in some exciting project at the time.
When I’ve tried to so much as skip a meal on purpose, somehow that changes things. My mind invariably wanders toward getting something in my stomach than whatever task is at hand.
So, would I fast for my faith? I don’t know. Something for me to think about while Lt. Klingenschmitt fasts for his.
