Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown
Did you see the Charlie Brown Christmas specials on ABC last night?
For the first time I can remember, I was actually looking forward to the event. We double-checked the time and channel to make sure we wouldn’t miss it. At the appointed hour, my little family gathered and we watched.
It was so cool when Linus recited Luke 2 passage (starting at verse 7, I think) from the KJV.
What really struck me during the shows what that I was actually shocked at how much of the real Christmas story was unashamedly told in the two shows. “What!? They are actually allowing this on the air without nationwide protests!?” On the contrary. My news search today only found raves and warm, reminiscent memories rekindled by the shows.
So nice and refreshing, in this age where people seek to remove anything Christian from public view.
Still, I have to wonder… Were there no protests because they knew the public would view any protester as a Scrooge?

Who can protest a kid with a blanket?
